SAS4Kids: Favorite Holiday Color Combo

Hi, everyone! Happy October! (Is anyone else wondering where September went?) And Happy World Card Making Day!!!

Before we get to this month's challenge, I have the pleasure of announcing the September participant who has been randomly selected to join us as a Guest DesignerThe lucky number was 9.

Congratulations, Tinyworks! Think that's two months in a row. Wow! Talk about luck! Please be sure to send me an email, including SAS4Kids in the subject line, at cards[dot]by[dot]sybrina[at]gmail[dot]com to schedule your upcoming guest designer appearance. A huge shout-out goes to all those who played along with us last month. My shipping days taught me that our card makers love making Halloween cards for our kids. LOVE IT! And we sure had a gallery of cute, cute, cute Halloween cards last month.

This month, we have a completely new challenge for us. Brand spanking new! Our challenge is to make a holiday card featuring your favorite holiday color combination. While all our designers have made Christmas/winter-themed cards, any holiday combo can work.
* Maybe purple, green, and gold for Halloween?
* Maybe teal, deep red, and golden mustard for Thanksgiving?
* Maybe red, black, and white for Valentine's?
* Maybe pink, lilac, and minty green for Mother's Day?

Your holiday choice, your color combo! Here are our designers' favorite holiday colors.

While we are featuring favorite holiday color combos this month, any kiddie-appropriate card can be linked up for this month's challenge and you have until Friday, October 31 to link up your creation. While you aren't required to donate your card to SAS4Kids in order to play along, one of our hospitalized patients would love it if you did. Card guidelines and shipper information can be found by clicking on the tabs at the top of this page.

For those working on holiday cards, here are a few upcoming deadlines for getting cards to your favorite shipper(s). Thanksgiving is not a huge holiday for us... but if you are working on any of those cards, please note that deadline.

    Thanksgiving - November 5
    Christmas/Winter - December 5

As always, thank you for joining us here at SAS4Kids. We can't wait to see your creation in our October gallery.

SAS4Kids: Summer Fun Cards 4 Kids

Hi, everyone! Happy weekend! Hope your summer is off to a great start. Around here, school's out and the neighborhood pool is open. Needless to say, there are a lot of smiling kiddos (and teachers) in these parts.

Yes, this is the first Saturday of a new month, which means it is time for a new Send a Smile 4 Kids challenge.

But before we get to our new challenge, I have the pleasure of announcing the May challenge participant who was randomly selected to join us as a Guest Designer. The lucky number was 3. Congratulations, Arlene! Please email me at the following address to schedule your upcoming guest appearance, including SAS4Kids in the subject line.

cards[dot]by[dot]sybrina[at]gmail[dot]com

Now for this month's challenge. We are thrilled to be joined by our Guest Designer Jaydee, who shares her adventures in cardmaking at Stampin! with Jaydee. Jaydee, whose cards have fantastic focal points and such interesting background elements, designs for Paper Players and Addicted to CAS. Thank you soooo very much, Jaydee, for sharing your talent with us!

This month's theme is to make a kid-friendly card that features summertime fun. Currently, we are between SAS4Kids holiday deadline times. (Whew!) So, we're using this time to focus on more generic summery cards. Nothing says summer like seagulls, seashells, vespas, picnics, birdfeeders, and watermelon.... right?!

Please stop by and check out the details for our designers' summer-themed cards. Then stop back by to link up a card of your very own. You have until noon Friday July 4 to play along. Remember that while the cards here have focused on summer-themed cards 4 kids, ANY kiddie-appropriate card can be shared.

Our heartfelt thanks to all of you who support our SAS4Kids hospitals. We look forward to seeing your wonderful creations in this month's gallery.

And I also want to thank everyone who played along with our challenge. I apologize for not being able to leave comments for Crystal's and Sue's cards. Your cards were adorable!

Now for this month's challenge. This month we are thrilled to be joined by our Guest Designer  Deanne who shares her adventures in cardmaking at A Little Bit O' Paper. Deanne always makes the cutest kiddie cards and is the queen of Cricut designs. Thank you soooo very much, Deanne, for sharing your talent with us!

This month's theme is to make a punny sentiment card.... because kids love puns. These can be punny cards to be given to one of our kiddos. Or, it might be a punny card that one of the kids could give to his/her dad, brother, favorite uncle. You will see that all of our designers have made guy/Dad cards because May 15 is the deadline for getting Father's Day cards to your favorite shipper(s).

These are cards that kids can give to the moms or special ladies in their lives. The April 15 deadline for getting these cards to your favorite shipper(s) is fast approaching.

Hello, everyone! Happy March!

Of course you are not required to donate your linked-up card to SAS4Kids, but a hospitalized child would surely love it if you did. And, we're changing things up a bit this month.
