SAS4Kids: Christmas in July 4 Kids

Happy July! Happy Saturday! For those in The States, Happy 250th, America!

But before we get to our this month's challenge, I have the pleasure of announcing the June participant who has been randomly selected to join us as a Guest Designer. The lucky number was 9. Congratulations, Darlene!

Darlene, please email me at cards,by.sybrina@gmail.com, including SAS4Kids in the subject line, to schedule your upcoming guest appearance. And a huge shout-out to all those who played along with us last month. From the look of things, there's a whole lot of fun going on this summer.  :)

While it was tempting to have a red, white, and blue card challenge this month given the America250 celebrations happening here, we decided to stick with our traditional Christmas in July Challenge. So, this month's challenge is to make Christmas/holiday cards for our kids.

Here are a few cards that would be perfect for our SAS4Kids kids.

While we are focusing on Christmas cards this month, any kiddie-appropriate card can be linked up for this month's challenge... and you have until Friday July 31 to link up your creation! Who knows? Maybe you'll make a red, white, and blue card? Or maybe a red, white, and blue holiday card?

You aren't required to donate your linked-up card to SAS4Kids, but one of our hospitalized patients would love it if you did. Card submission information can be found by clicking on the tabs at the top of this page.

As always, thanks for your support of SAS4Kids. We are looking forward to seeing your work(s) of heart in our July gallery.

SAS4Kids: Summer Fun Cards 4 Kids

Hi, everyone! Happy weekend! It's a first Saturday, which means it's time for a new challenge here at Send a Smile 4 Kids. But, before we announce this month's theme, we have a couple of announcements.

For starters, we are thrilled to announce the newest member of our SAS4Kids Design Team Thrilled! Please join us in welcoming Michelle to our family. Michelle shares her adventures in cardmaking on Insta. Here's a bit about Michelle in her own words.

I live in NH with my kitty Daisy MaeMae, boyfriend and son. I have been a cardmaker since 2000. I love coloring with my Copics and using pattern paper on my cards. I’m definitely a paper junkie. Most of the cards I make are donated to Charity. If you wanna talk cardmaking 24/7, I’m your girl!

I also have the pleasure of announcing the May challenge participant who was randomly selected to join us as a Guest Designer. The lucky number was 3. Congratulations, Arlene! Please email me at the following address to schedule your upcoming guest appearance, including SAS4Kids in the subject line.

Now for this month's challenge. This month's theme is to make a kid-friendly card that features summertime fun. Currently, we are between SAS4Kids holiday deadline times. So, we're using this time to focus on more generic summery cards.

Now for this month's challenge. We are thrilled to be joined by our Guest Designer Jose, who shares her adventures in cardmaking at  https://josevoorbeeldkaarten.blogspot.com/. Jose's cards always have such lovely palettes, as often possess an ethereal aesthetic. Thank you, Jose, for sharing your talents with us this month!

Please stop by and check out the details for our designers' summer-themed cards. Then stop back by to link up a card of your very own. You have until noon Friday July 3 to play along. Remember that while the cards here have focused on summer-themed cards 4 kids, ANY kiddie-appropriate card can be shared.

Our heartfelt thanks to all of you who support our SAS4Kids hospitals. We look forward to seeing your summery creations in this month's gallery.

SAS4Kids: Trains, Planes, and Automobiles!

Hello! It's the first Saturday of May, which means it's time for a new challenge for our kids.

Before we get to this month's challenge, I have the pleasure of announcing the April participant who has been randomly selected to join us as a Guest DesignerThis month's lucky number is #4 A Kept Life.

Congratulations, Jeanne! Please be sure to send me an email, including SAS4Kids in the subject line, at cards[dot]by[dot]sybrina[at]gmail[dot]com to schedule your upcoming guest designer appearance. Special thanks to everyone who linked up cards in our gallery last month. Those pretty, springy, flowery cards will be perfect Mother's Day.

I think this month's challenge is a new one for us. Our May theme is Planes, Trains, and Automobiles! But, by all means, any and all modes of transportation are welcome. Have a frog riding a unicycle? Go for it! An elephant in a hot air balloon? Perfect! I decided to go with a couple of mice exploring the skies on a paper airplane. Too cute not to use!

Regardless of our chosen mode of transportation, we all were inspired to make guy cards. Since our Father's Day card deadline is May 15, our shippers are hoping to receive lots of guy-themed cards to tuck into their boxes.

This month, we are thrilled to welcome Guest Designer Dreja... who joins us from Germany! We are always excited when international card makers like Dreja share their talents with us. Dreja blogs about her experiences in card making at Dreja's Craft World. Stopping by her craft world, you will come across a variety of styles and techniques... from inking up fabulous backgrounds to playing with patterned papers, from creating great CAS designs to going for for detailed compositions. Thank you for crafting with us this month, Dreja! We were so happy when you accepted our guest designer invitation.

So, let's take a look at the guy cards from Dreja and our SAS4Kids DT that were inspired by our Planes-Trains-Automobiles theme. I must add this is the first challenge in a while that all of our gals have been able to join us. How wonderful to have a full house!!

Even though we are focusing on Modes of Transportation Cards, ANY kiddie-appropriate card can be linked up for this month's challenge. You have until Friday, June 5 to play along. While you aren't required to donate your linked-up card to SAS4Kids, one of our hospitalized patients surely would love it if you did. Card submission information can be found by clicking on the tabs at the top of this page.

As always, thanks soooo much for your support of SAS4Kids. We can't wait to see your floral creations in our May gallery!
