SAS4Kids: Christmas in July 4 Kids

Happy July! Happy Saturday! For those in The States, Happy Holiday Weekend!

But before we get to our this month's challenge, I have the pleasure of announcing the June participant who has been randomly selected to join us as a Guest Designer. The lucky number was 1Congratulations, Jose! Please email me at cards[dot]by[dot]sybrina[at]gmail[dot]com, including SAS4Kids in the subject line, to schedule your upcoming guest appearance. And a huge shout-out to all those who played along with us last month. There were so many cute cards in our June gallery. Sooooo many!!!

This month, we are continuing our annual tradition of celebrating Christmas in July by making Christmas/holiday cards for our kids. I don't know about your neck of the woods, but the last week or two around here have been hot, hot, hot. It was a true pleasure playing with some cute little penguins. From the looks of things, our design team enjoyed pulling out their wintry/holiday stashes.

Here are a few cards that would be perfect for our SAS4Kids kids.

While we are focusing on Christmas cards this month, any kiddie-appropriate card can be linked up for this month's challenge... and you have until Friday August 1 to link up your creation! While you aren't required to donate your linked-up card to SAS4Kids, one of our hospitalized patients would love it if you did. Card submission information can be found by clicking on the tabs at the top of this page.

As always, thanks for your support of SAS4Kids. Hope to see your work(s) of heart in our July gallery.

SAS4Kids: Summer Fun Cards 4 Kids

Hi, everyone! Happy weekend! Hope your summer is off to a great start. Around here, school's out and the neighborhood pool is open. Needless to say, there are a lot of smiling kiddos (and teachers) in these parts.

Yes, this is the first Saturday of a new month, which means it is time for a new Send a Smile 4 Kids challenge.

But before we get to our new challenge, I have the pleasure of announcing the May challenge participant who was randomly selected to join us as a Guest Designer. The lucky number was 3. Congratulations, Arlene! Please email me at the following address to schedule your upcoming guest appearance, including SAS4Kids in the subject line.

Now for this month's challenge. We are thrilled to be joined by our Guest Designer Jaydee, who shares her adventures in cardmaking at Stampin! with Jaydee. Jaydee, whose cards have fantastic focal points and such interesting background elements, designs for Paper Players and Addicted to CAS. Thank you soooo very much, Jaydee, for sharing your talent with us!

This month's theme is to make a kid-friendly card that features summertime fun. Currently, we are between SAS4Kids holiday deadline times. (Whew!) So, we're using this time to focus on more generic summery cards. Nothing says summer like seagulls, seashells, vespas, picnics, birdfeeders, and watermelon.... right?!

Please stop by and check out the details for our designers' summer-themed cards. Then stop back by to link up a card of your very own. You have until noon Friday July 4 to play along. Remember that while the cards here have focused on summer-themed cards 4 kids, ANY kiddie-appropriate card can be shared.

Our heartfelt thanks to all of you who support our SAS4Kids hospitals. We look forward to seeing your wonderful creations in this month's gallery.

And I also want to thank everyone who played along with our challenge. I apologize for not being able to leave comments for Crystal's and Sue's cards. Your cards were adorable!

Now for this month's challenge. This month we are thrilled to be joined by our Guest Designer  Deanne who shares her adventures in cardmaking at A Little Bit O' Paper. Deanne always makes the cutest kiddie cards and is the queen of Cricut designs. Thank you soooo very much, Deanne, for sharing your talent with us!

This month's theme is to make a punny sentiment card.... because kids love puns. These can be punny cards to be given to one of our kiddos. Or, it might be a punny card that one of the kids could give to his/her dad, brother, favorite uncle. You will see that all of our designers have made guy/Dad cards because May 15 is the deadline for getting Father's Day cards to your favorite shipper(s).
