SAS4Kids: Cards 4 Dads/Special Guys

Welcome, friends! We extend Mother's Day greetings to everyone who has loved a child, to everyone who has been loved by a child. And if this is a bittersweet holiday, please give yourself permission to be gentle with yourself these next few days.

Now that Mother's Day cards have been delivered to our hospitals, our Design Team has turned its attention to cards for dads and special guys. This challenge is to make a card for a child/teen/tween to give to a special man in his/her life. Please note that the deadline for getting Father's Day cards -- as well as summer cards -- to our shippers is May 15. If you have any questions about mailing out your cards, please double check with your shipper.

And, without further ado, let's take a look at what our DT came up with for this month's challenge.

SAS4Kids: March Marvels

Hi, everyone! Thanks for stopping by Send a Smile 4 Kids!

A HUGE thanks to all who linked up cards for our Cards 4 Boys Challenge. Boy cards can be so hard to make, so we are thrilled to feature three that caught our eye in last month's gallery.

So many little boys love dinosaurs and
our DT loved Deanna's striking Jurassic scene!

Donna's amazing smooshed background evokes such a calming sensation,
and kids always get a kick out of punny sentiments!

Kelly's card is a real ace with its vibrant colors,
adorable scene... and sentiment-free versatility!

Congratulations, ladies! Thank you for sharing your amazing talents with us.

SAS4Kids: February Favorites

Hi, everyone! Hope you all are having a wonderful weekend.

A huge heartfelt thanks to everyone who made spring/Easter cards this year for our in-patient kids. With Easter just a few weeks away, our shippers are busy packing up their hospitals' holiday boxes.

Spring/Easter cards can be so cute, so fun, and so colorful. Here are three cards from last month's gallery that caught the eyes of our designers.

2. Arlene

Cute is the perfect word to describe this fluffle of bunnies...
and Arlene's sweet design is CAS perfection!

You all know how much we love fun fold cards around here
and Dreja's critters take this card's fun element to whole other level!

Ma-Mi's card is a master class in colors,
from that pretty wreath to her beautifully colored bunny!

SAS4Kids: Cards 4 Boys

Hi, everyone! Thanks for joining us for a new challenge here at Send a Smile 4 Kids!

As our shippers ramp up their efforts to ship out boxes of spring/Easter cards to our hospitals, our Design Team turns its attention to cards 4 boys. Our shippers always do a special happy dance when they receive great guy cards from their cardmakers.

So, without further ado, here are a few guy cards our gals created for this month's challenge. You'll see some of the cards include boy-favorite images like toads and pirates, while other cards feature more subdued palettes/patterns. Sometimes a mere change in paper selection is all that it takes to give a card a boy feel.

SAS4Kids: January Gems

Hi, everyone! Welcome back!

Our thanks to everyone who played along with last month's Love/Valentines 4 Kids Challenge and/or sent cards to our shippers. The SAS4Kids calendar is kind of crazy sometimes. Last month, it meant getting Valentines to our shippers by January 15. We so appreciate all our wonderful card makers who did just that. You're the best!

Our January Gallery had some pretty cute cards. Here are three that caught our eyes.

Our gals always go gaga over interactive cards for our kiddies,
and a tween/teen is going to go gaga over that rainbow background!

Cornelia's CAS card has such a strong focal point.
And those perfectly-paired pigeons are just too cute!

Have you ever seen sweeter polar bears?!
We just adored Melanie's stenciled, inky winter background.

Congratulations, ladies! Thanks for sharing your amazing talents with us.

SAS4Kids: December Darlings

Hi, everyone! Hope 2022 is off to a great start.

Huge thanks to everyone who played along with last month's Winter Cards 4 Kids Challenge. The December Gallery cards were just so darn cute! Here are three cards that caught our DT's eyes.

Who doesn't love an adorable doggie decked out for the holidays?
Valerie's coloring is amazing and her CAS design is pure perfection!

We were so impressed by the depth of Elizabeth's wintry card.
All the dimension and texture here make for such a fun look!

Our gals were wowed with Trina's gorgeous inking and precise coloring.
Talk about a beautiful quintet of sloths!

Happy 2022! Thank you for joining us for a new year of challenges at Send a Smile 4 Kids. All of us here at SAS4Kids hope 2022 rings in a year of health and happiness for all of you and loved ones.

Every December, as I wrap up my final holiday projects, I let out a big sigh of relief. Sound familiar? But then, as I put up our new calendar... and walk through the candy aisle at the local grocery, I realize that Valentine's is right around the corner. Seriously right around the corner for our shippers.

So, without further ado, let's look at the love/Valentine's cards for kids created by our designers. We're thrilled to welcome back Melanie Hungerford as a Guest Designer. Melanie shares her adventures in crafting at Cards by Melanie. Thank you so much, Melanie, for again sharing your talents with us!
