SAS4Kids: November Nuggets

Hi, everyone! It's time for a few SAS4Kids shout-outs!

It was such fun to see so many wonderful holiday cards in our November gallery!  Holiday favorites making an appearance included Santa, snowmen, elves, reindeer, Christmas critters, and festive holiday sweaters. And who would've guessed Yeti would stop by and pay us a visit? Such fun, indeed!

Heartfelt thanks to everyone who played along with our Happy Holidays Challenge. And heartfelt thanks to all who made cards for our SAS4kids kids.

Here are a few sweet cards that caught our DT's eyes.

4. Rosi

What a sweet holiday scene!
The only thing sweeter than one Christmas critter is... two Christmas critters.
And, Rosi's amazing coloring brought these two sweet critters to life.

Donna also used amazing coloring skills to bring her adorable good boy to life.
Moreover, she used a great layout to create a strong focal point...
... and fabulous dp to finish off this merry and bright card. Merry and Bright!

You all know how much we love shaped cards around here.
Jose chose a perfect shape to showcase this holiday scene...
... and this trio of penguins couldn't be any cuter!

CongratulationsThanks for sharing your amazing talents with us. Be sure to grab our Top 3 badge to display on your blog.

Our current Winter Cards 4 Kids Challenge runs until January 3. It is not required that you donate your card after entering, but a young patient in one of our SAS4Kids hospitals would surely love it if you did. For information about donating cards, click on the tabs at the top of our blog. Please check our shippers' needs before sending cards their way... and our Valentine's Day January 15th deadline will be here in the blink of an eye.

SAS4Kids: Winter Cards 4 Kids

Hi, everyone! Yes, it is the first Saturday of a new month. Around these parts, first Saturdays mean it's time for a new kiddie card challenge. This month we are focusing on Winter Cards 4 Kids. That's right, it's time for cards featuring smiling snowmen, colorful sleds, fuzzy critters, and mugs of hot chocolate. Time for all those wintry childhood delights.

We are thrilled to welcome back Maria Giselle as a Guest Designer! Maria Giselle's creations are always adorable. Soooo adorable! And, this month's snowperson snow globe is as cute as cute can be. Maria Giselle's handiwork can be seen at Maria Giselle's Creative Cuts. Thank you so much, Maria Giselle, for sharing your amazing talent with us!

Now, without further ado, it's time to look at a few cards. Snowpeople and critters, anyone?!

You have until January 3 to play along with this month's challenge. While we are featuring winter cards this month, any kiddie-appropriate card can be linked up to play along. Even though you don't have to send your card to SAS4Kids to join in the challenge fun, an in-patient child/teen would love it if you did.

If you have last minute cards you were planning on sending to a shipper, please reach out to her ASAP. And, if you have a little bonus crafting time and want to get a head start on those 2025 Love/Valentine cards, the deadline for getting those to our shippers is January 15.

I know we say this every month, but we are so appreciative of you... and for your support of Send a Smile 4 Kids. Your works of heart have brought countless smiles to hospitalized patients and their loved ones. Thank you!!!

Our shippers are always in need of cards for our our tweens/teens. Karen's card would be
perfect for one of our older patients. And, we just loved this card's bold, graphic look!

There's nothing cuter than a little penguin wearing reindeer ears, is there?!
Lorraine created such a sweet scene... with gorgeously colored elements. Lovely!

Buttons, twine, and fluffy snow... oh, my!
Deanne's attention to details brings this snowgal to life. Great job, Deanne!

Here are three cards that caught our DT's eyes.

Donna's little gnome stole our team's heart. Serious swooning here!
Her fella is perfectly colored and that postage stamp framing makes a great focal point.

Talking about perfect coloring... oh, my! What a gorgeous scene. Gorgeous!!!
And how clever to adapt Christmas critters for this pretty fall scene.

#7 Trina

Trina incorporated such great techniques in creating this spook-tacular card:
stretching out that tray die, twinkling up those eyes, and blending up a moonlit sky. Stunning!

It's always such fun to see your kiddie holiday cards. And, snowy white Christmas images are especially cool to look at on hot summer days. Yes, pun intended.  :)

A big thanks to everyone who played along with us. Here are three cards that caught our team's eyes.

3. Trina
Trina's expert masking and coloring have created another amazing 3-D look. Amazing!
All it took was a few scissor snips to give those pine sprigs a pretty darn realistic appearance.

Chris's little gal is beautifully colored. Beautifully colored!
Moreover, her layered-paper design is quite simple... but is so creative and so fun!

Maria Giselle's gorgeously inked moon is stunning. Just stunning!
And, the techniques used to create those six reindeer were... strokes of genius.
