SAS4Kids: LOVE You SNOW Much Cards 4 Kids

Hi, everyone! It's the first Saturday of the month, which means it's time for a new challenge here at Send a Smile 4 Kids. And this month's theme is a brand spankin' new challenge for us. But more on that in a minute.

First, I have the pleasure of announcing the September participant who has been randomly selected to join us as a Guest DesignerThis month's lucky number was 8.

Congratulations, Arlene! Please be sure to send me an email, including SAS4Kids in the subject line, at cards[dot]by[dot]sybrina[at]gmail[dot]com to schedule your upcoming guest designer appearance. Our thanks to everyone who shared their works of heart last month. It was wonderful to see such a nice variety of kiddie holiday cards. Some sweet, Some whimsical. Some classic. All wonderful!

Now, for that brand spankin' new challenge. Our theme is LOVE you SNOW Much. This month we are focusing on cards that feature snowflakes... or hearts... or both snowflakes AND hearts. Talk about a perfect theme for everyone to play along. Perfect for those of us finishing up holiday cards, as well as for those of us getting a head start on Valentine's Day. Perfect!

Jen

While we are focusing on 'LOVE You SNOW Much' cards 4 our kids this month, any kiddie-appropriate card can be linked up for this month's challenge and you have until Friday, January 2 to share your work of heart. While you aren't required to donate your linked-up card to SAS4Kids, one of our hospitalized patients surely would love it if you did. Card submission information can be found by clicking on the tabs at the top of this page.

Yesterday was the deadline for getting Christmas and winter cards to our shippers. But, if you are still working on a few SAS4Kids cards, be sure to touch base with your favorite shipper(s).

If you find yourself ahead of the game, it's never too early to start on those Valentine's Day cards. That deadline is January 15! When I was shipping for Nationwide Children's in Columbus, I always wished I had a few more Valentines to slip into that shipment.

As always, thanks soooo much for your support of SAS4Kids. We look forward to seeing your works of heart in our 'LOVE You SNOW Much' Gallery.

And, all of us here wish you and yours the merriest of holidays and the happiest of new years!

SAS4Kids: Holiday Cards 4 Kids

Hi, everyone! Today is the first Saturday in November, which means it's time for a new challenge here at Send a Smile 4 Kids.

But before we get to this month's challenge, I have the pleasure of announcing the September participant who has been randomly selected to join us as a Guest DesignerThis month's lucky number was 4.

Congratulations, Suzanne! Please be sure to send me an email, including SAS4Kids in the subject line, at cards[dot]by[dot]sybrina[at]gmail[dot]com to schedule your upcoming guest designer appearance. A huge shout-out to all those who played along with us last month. Favorite holiday color combo was a new challenge for us, and it was fun to see some of our card makers' favorite color combos. It looks like a traditional fall palette is a crowd favorite.

Halloween has come and gone. But, lucky for us, Christmas is right around the corner. Even luckier for our kids because they love getting festive Santa/reindeer/gingerbread people/snowmen/winter critters/fill-in-the-blank! holiday cards. LOVE THEM!

Jen

SAS4Kids: Favorite Holiday Color Combo

Hi, everyone! Happy October! (Is anyone else wondering where September went?) And Happy World Card Making Day!!!

Before we get to this month's challenge, I have the pleasure of announcing the September participant who has been randomly selected to join us as a Guest DesignerThe lucky number was 9.

Congratulations, Tinyworks! Think that's two months in a row. Wow! Talk about luck! Please be sure to send me an email, including SAS4Kids in the subject line, at cards[dot]by[dot]sybrina[at]gmail[dot]com to schedule your upcoming guest designer appearance. A huge shout-out goes to all those who played along with us last month. My shipping days taught me that our card makers love making Halloween cards for our kids. LOVE IT! And we sure had a gallery of cute, cute, cute Halloween cards last month.

This month, we have a completely new challenge for us. Brand spanking new! Our challenge is to make a holiday card featuring your favorite holiday color combination. While all our designers have made Christmas/winter-themed cards, any holiday combo can work.
* Maybe purple, green, and gold for Halloween?
* Maybe teal, deep red, and golden mustard for Thanksgiving?
* Maybe red, black, and white for Valentine's?
* Maybe pink, lilac, and minty green for Mother's Day?

Your holiday choice, your color combo! Here are our designers' favorite holiday colors.

While we are featuring favorite holiday color combos this month, any kiddie-appropriate card can be linked up for this month's challenge and you have until Friday, October 31 to link up your creation. While you aren't required to donate your card to SAS4Kids in order to play along, one of our hospitalized patients would love it if you did. Card guidelines and shipper information can be found by clicking on the tabs at the top of this page.

For those working on holiday cards, here are a few upcoming deadlines for getting cards to your favorite shipper(s). Thanksgiving is not a huge holiday for us... but if you are working on any of those cards, please note that deadline.

    Thanksgiving - November 5
    Christmas/Winter - December 5

As always, thank you for joining us here at SAS4Kids. We can't wait to see your creation in our October gallery.
